Rick Duenas, DC


Dr. Richard Duenas is a graduate of New York Chiropractic College. He has specialty qualifications as a Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Neurology and Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician. He offers a naturally based wholistic approach to general health care, neurologically related conditions. He has extensive experience in caring for sport, work and auto related injuries and achieved Advanced Certification in Whiplash study from the Spine Research Institute of San Diego. He served as the Medical Director for the Nutmeg State Games, 1994 through 1999, 2006 and 2014. In 1999 and 2006 he received the Connecticut Chiropractic Association, Chiropractor of the Year award. He served as president of the Connecticut Chiropractic Association from 2015 to 2018 and is a Fellow of the International College of Chiropractors. He considers good health as dependent upon a sound and balanced mind, body well integrated with the environment.

Techniques
Dr. Duenas practices traditional diversified chiropractic techniques including motion palpation, flexion distraction. He incorporates soft tissue treatment techniques such as myofascial/adhesion release, post isometric relaxation, mobilization, exercise and neural rehabilitation.

Community Work
Doctor Duenas has supported the Nutmeg State Games as a sports medicine volunteer and/or Medical Director for over 20 years. He actively supports efforts by the chiropractic profession to improve health care policy in the state.
